A REVIEW OF THE ELITE MANIFESTO; the president's manifesto review.

Mr Anthony promised to provide a way for NSASAITES......

As the watchdog of NSASA, we are committed to shedding light on issues for the members of the association to be able to make informed choices. This is why we reviewed the manifesto of the President, Mr Anthony and compared it to his administration. The President was also interviewed to get all sides of the story.

Mr Anthony had an ELITE manifesto that included Employabiliity build-up, Leverage, Integration, Training and Excellence. For the first point of his agenda, ‘Employability’, Mr Anthony promised to provide a way for NSASAITES to upskill using platforms like Coursera, Udemy, Jobberman, and our alumni association. He explained that the coming symposium will involve our alumnus, who would impart useful knowledge. He further explained that most of these platforms had started to monetize their courses and that limited their plans because of financial constraints.

For the second point, ‘Leverage’, the President explained that they were still working on it, deliberating and building a structured plan to launch the community for sociologists and hand over the blueprint to the next administration. I’d implore us to stay tuned and expect what they are cooking.

Mr Anthony, working with the office of the Vice President and the faculty, has organized tutorials and taught in some of these tutorials. He has created a system where there is no barrier with the fresh students reaching the executives and those in higher levels. His administration also worked on pairing up students with mentors and are working on a quiz competition among the mentor-mentees’ groups. He also explained that the Anonymous had always been a platform for him to know where they can improve and to see if there is any issue in the department with his executives.

The President and his administration were working on an exam relief package last semester, which never came to fruition but the President said that it was because the funds raised, wasn’t enough and the price of foodstuff has increased astronomically. He further claimed that they were still working on it against this semester.

Also, his administration had provided relief to some students by paying their school fees in the background. This is commendable, however there should have been more publicity with the recipients kept anonymous. The President also said that they have in motion, a plan to give back to the society through social impact.

However, on the ‘Training’ agenda, a lot has not been done. The President was asked if the symposium will cover it but he said that he believed that training was a continuous process of at least a month, and not just a day. He took responsibility for not working it into fulfilment and explained that most of the trainers wanted to be paid for imparting their knowledge and they were limited by financial constraints. He expressed his apologies to NSASA.

Screenshots of his manifesto will be attached to the blog post. Dear NSASAITES, look through and judge for yourself, if he has achieved 75% of his promises. Feel free to express your opinions in the comments to provide feedback for the executives as they will be reading.
