SCHOOL AND STUFF

Episode one.

Authoress Moremi.

Jennifer got home late that evening. Right as she walked to her self-contained apartment, she flung her bag on the bed, pulled off her shoes and lay down on the floor, as she muttled "School nah scam."

She stayed like that for a while, frowning with her eyes tightly closed. She reminisced every event that happened that day.

From lectures to impromptu tests to that presentation and many more, it was indeed a bad day for her. She reminded herself that it was her sophomore year and this was the least of workload she'd experience in school.

Suddenly a smile unfolded itself, like a morning sunflower, through her predominant frown. She started with a smile then it grew wilder till her cheeks turned red.

Even though the events of the day had been loco, but something remarkable happened to her. In-between the stressful move from one class to another, she found a break to get some snacks from the tuckshop. Alex, her long time crush since first year, spoke to her for the second time in two years.

Unlike the first time, when he only asked a direction, they discussed for a long time. In her room, she felt as flushed as she was when he asked her name.

She knew a win was scored when he finally asked her number. It was highly unexpected, because she looked her worse and weirdest that day and it was the least thing in her mind. She thought of how much she had been against any entanglement since her first year. Fear, uncertainty, stress, commitment and other reasons held her bound. Though she isn't sure if anything has changed, but she was happy regardlessly

.

Two days later, she hadn't heard from Alex, it was almost looking like he would never reach out. And funny enough, everytime a call came in, her heart skipped a beat.

But nope, he didn't call. Do guys play hard to get too? She hadn't really seen him too. Just one time on his way to a class with his friends, laughing at something. Maybe he is avoiding her. Maybe he just doesn't want to talk to her or he collected her number just to fulfill all righteousness.

"Jenny!" Patience's voice called her out of her thoughts. "The lecturer is asking you a question!" Oh shit, what an awkward moment with all eyes are on her. After class, she went straight home, missing the last class for the day. But she had told her friend, Patience to snap her note and send to her, lying she had a serious headache. Maybe she did but it was from the series of questions she had no answer to.

As soon as she dropped her bag, to go make custard, her phone buzzed and a message popped up on the screen.

"You looked beautiful today, Jay."
