Seven Ways To Supercharge Your Holiday

Updated: May 13

The holiday is always that moment every student always look forward to, every semester and each session, to ease the long academic stress they might have been through.

But guess what, the holiday is not that time to just sleep all day till resumption. It is that time to invest in yourself apart from just academic activities, because a positive active mind tends to achieve great things in life.

Also there's the fact that this generation does not value a one way person. Rather, they ask , "what else can you bring to the table apart from your area of discipline?" Do not just be active in your discipline alone, what else can you offer?

That's why I have brought you these tips.

1 Taking courses online related to your course of study:

It is a good thing to engage in some online courses relating to your course of study as a student during this holiday. There is enough time to engage in so many courses as these will add up your C.V. and give your higher leverage than others. For example, Communication skills, human resource management, etc. on Alison and Coursera.

2 Reading the courses for the next session before the lectures resume:

As a student, it is good to start reading up some of the courses you will take in the next session as this will give you more insight about those courses and speed when reading for examination or tests.

3 Making money:

This is also a vital means to engage your holiday with. As the country is becoming harder every time, and school fees are being increased every time. The money earned can go a long way through the next semester, sustain you and decrease the frequency of your 2k per week from your family. You could also get a job for the mean time till resumption.

4 Engaging in voluntary works:

This, in a way will build your mind set and change your view towards some certain things as a student, and trust me, this also add up your C.V. Voluntary work in hospitals, seminars, non governmental organizations, etc. ASIDO is a very good example of such non-governmental organization.

5 Knowledge Acquisition:

Attending seminars and symposiums in business, health, education, finance, is also a good thing to engage in during this holiday. Knowledge is power, and the more you acquire knowledge, the more you are built. Once you have this knowledge, it will be part of your forever and you can also make use of it, no matter how small it is.

6 Skill Acquisition:

This is another way to make your holiday a productive one. Think about a skill or handiwork you will perform best in and enrol yourself in such handiwork. As a Nigerian Student or a fresh graduate, you must have a side hustle. Think about it when you finally graduate or before you graduate, and you are already a master in your handiwork, in a way, you will start earning money from it. Like, hair dressing, fashion designing, cateering, photography, cinematography, videography and so on.

7.

Reading books: Books have a way of sharpening your mind and brain as a student and human generally. As someone who wants to be intelligent, it would be best to invest your time, energy and resources in books-spiritual, finance, lifestyle, fashion, relationships, business and so on. This definitely will help you in your discipline and other aspects of your life.

Recommendation of such books, includes; The self aware leader by Terry Linhart, The money game by Adam Smith, Think and grow by Napoleon Hill and so on.

These 7 points or things, amongst others are the things you can engage in during this holiday inorder to have a productive holiday, which will change your life forever.
