SOIREE DRAWS CROWDS DESPITE DELAYS

The Nigerian Sociological And Anthropological Association of Students’ (NSASA) annual picnic themed ‘soiree’ drew a large crowd of students on Saturday night, despite starting later than scheduled. The event, held at the campus umbrella-shaped pavilion, was marked by glamorous attire and high spirits.

Students arrived, dressed in a mix of haute couture and trendy outfits, creating a festive atmosphere. The evening began with a hype man energizing the crowd, followed by a DJ who played a variety of music genres including soul, hip-hop, and popular hits.

The party faced a brief interruption when the generator powering the event ran out of fuel. However, attendees maintained their enthusiasm, forming small groups to socialize until power was restored. Once the music resumed, the celebration continued with renewed energy.

Refreshments included a unique blend of palm wine and red wine, along with fried seasoned plantain served later in the evening. One attendee, a second-year sociology student known as "Dynamics," commented, "This is the first party I've attended this semester, and I love it because I was able to relieve my academic stress."

Despite the initial delay and temporary power outage, the event was widely regarded as a success. Students departed in good spirits, having enjoyed an evening of dancing, socializing, and relaxation away from their studies.

NSASA's picnic has become a popular annual event, providing students with an opportunity to unwind and build camaraderie outside the classroom setting.
