While at the departmental level, we beg for candidates to show up and buy forms, it is a little different from the faculty level. Mix four different departments in the social sciences and a serious competition ensues. The last election, for example, takes the cap of it all.
A series of investigations ensued and I felt like James Bond as secrets fell right into the palm of my hands. God fathers and godmothers cooked, some of which became done but sour and some, thrown into the bin.
There was even a case of smearing an opposition's reputation. People made false promises and betrayed different parties. Some 'enemy' parties came together to 'heal' from the betrayal and defeat the common traitor today. Hearts were broken like the day before Valentine's.
Of course, many people are unaware of a lot of these things because they were in a bubble of their own. However, it is our duty as the Press Organization to let you in the 'juicy' things in the university at whole, to enable you make more informed choices. Stay tuned!
